Citigroup Renews Credit Card Deal with Citgo

Citigroup Inc. has renewed a long-term deal to continue issuing private-label credit cards for Citgo Petroleum Corp., the bank said Thursday.

Citigroup has issued payment products for the Houston gasoline company since 1995.

The third-largest U.S. bank by assets has signed or renewed a number of private-label card contracts in recent months, including contracts with Sunoco Inc., Sears Holdings Corp. and Ford Motor Co. The bank recommitted to its retailer credit card business last fall, after trying unsuccessfully to sell the unit.

The New York bank also renamed the unit as Citi Retail Services in December.
