CO-OP Financial Services hopes the model used in one of the oldest staples of credit union cooperation, the shared branch, can drive new digital commerce innovation and help get a leg up on banks.

Seeking to provide its members with a competitive differentiator and a way to boost customer loyalty and card usage, CO-OP Financial Services announced Thursday a new service that allows credit unions personalize their ATM, debit and credit cards with photos of their choosing.
Consumers wanting to personalize their cards can do so in a three-step process online: Upload images from their computers or social media accounts; crop the images to the card face; and submit the designs for production and order confirmation.
CO-OP Financial Services, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., is the country's largest credit union service organization, with about 1,400 credit union participants.
Shore Community Federal Credit Union, of Trenton, Mich., served as the beta client for the new product, which is called Photo-OP.
Some banks, including Wells Fargo, already allow customers to design their cards with imagery of their choosing.
