The security software vendor Fraud Sciences Corp. said its products have allowed the online computer retailer CompuVest Corp. to increase its sales by accepting international orders it once deemed too risky.
Fraud Sciences, of Palo Alto, Calif., said it guarantees its clients' sales against fraud and chargebacks, which makes its clients more comfortable doing business with customers that may appear unsafe.
"Before using Fraud Sciences for transaction approvals, CompuVest had to decline many orders that appeared risky but were most likely legitimate," Mark Rogers, CompuVest's international sales manager, said Monday in a press release from Fraud Sciences. The Renton, Wash., retailer now "approves more orders worldwide and has doubled the percentage of international sales from 15% to 30%."
