Continental Of L.I. Hires Sullivan as President, CEO

Continental Bank, Garden City, N.Y., has hired John P. Sullivan as president and chief executive. He succeeds Edward F. McAdams, who resigned for personal reasons.

Mr. Sullivan had been president of East River Savings Bank in New York City since last year. In July, East River Savings, formerly a division of River Bank America, was acquired by Marine Midland Bank, Buffalo.

From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Sullivan was president of Hamilton Federal Savings in Brooklyn.
