Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod in Hyannis, Mass., has hired the first female CEO in its 95-year history.
The $800 million-asset bank said in a press release Tuesday that Lisa Oliver, a former KeyCorp executive, will also become its president on March 6.
Oliver will succeed Joe Cowell, who is retiring after 47 years at the bank.
“The Coop has demonstrated how" a focus on clients’ needs "has returned benefits to the organizations in its footprint and the communities in which it serves,” Oliver said in the release. “Its mission aligns perfectly with my business values.”
Oliver previously was an executive vice president at KeyBank, where she ran its business banking division.
Oliver “was selected because of her proven leadership, extensive industry experience in both large and small markets, and commitment to delivering cutting edge service in a highly personal way,” Sheila Vanderhoef, the bank’s lead director, said in the release.
