The March 22 article "GOP Panel Will Try for Banking Bill with Something for Everyone" (page 2) incorrectly reported two provisions of the bill.

It would not block the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency from allowing national banks to conduct new activities through subsidiaries. Nor would it overturn the agency's decision regarding Magna Bank of Missouri, which converted from a state to a federal charter and retained insurance activities not allowed national banks.
