Correction

An article on page 5 Tuesday, "N.Y. Requiring Daily Change of ATM Surveillance Tapes," included incorrect information from a spokesman for the New York State Banking Department on a regulation's timing. The emergency regulation will not take effect until Jan. 23. A 45-day comment period is to begin Jan. 19, after which a final version will be subject to approval by the banking superintendent, according to Barbara Kent, the department's director of consumer affairs and financial products.
