The company's market capitalization at March 31 was $842.8 million, which ranked it 80th. Chittenden was also erroneously listed among companies with the top declines in market cap.
A page 1 article Wednesday, "Wells, Mellon, State St. Post Strong Profits for Quarter," erred in saying Mellon Financial Corp.'s net income rose 10%. Its net was flat, but operating income rose 10%. The article also misstated Bank One Corp.'s expenses, which were $2.66 billion, not million.
