Countrywide, Plaza tap personnel execs.

Two top-20 mortgage companies have appointed human resources executives.

At Countrywide Funding Corp., Gail Thakarar, formerly a senior vice president, was appointed managing rector of human resources.

Fluent in four languages and a graduate of Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Thakarar has worked in human resources for more than 25 years. She spent time at General Electric and Occidental Petroleum before joining Countrywide, the nation's largest mortgage company.

Pasadena, Calif.-based Countrywide Funding is a unit of Countrywide Credit Industries.

John Barbadian, an experienced personnel manager, was hired by Plaza Home Mortgage Corp., Santa Ana, Calif., as a vice president.

A graduate of California State University at Los Angeles, Mr. Barbadian has worked in human resources for almost 20 years.

He spent 13 years as vice president of human resources and support services at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, Calif.
