Credit Suisse unit names Meister to president's post.

Frank Meister has been appointed president of Credit Suisse Asset Management Inc., New York, the investment management subsidiary of Credit Suisse.

He succeeds Kenneth J. Tarr, who has left the bank.

Mr. Meister will retain his position as group executive responsible for Credit Suisse private banking in the United States.

The company said he will review "the role and structure of CSAM within the Credit Suisse organization," emphasizing improvement in portfolio performance and service to the private banking clients of Credit Suisse USA as well as "broadening the management base."
