Diebold (DBD) announced Wednesday that it has acquired Gas Tecnologia, a Brazilian Internet banking, online payment and mobile banking security company.

The North Canton, Ohio, ATM maker says the acquisition will bolster its presence in Brazil. It said gas secures roughly 70% of online bank transactions in Brazil.
The price of the purchase was not disclosed.
"This acquisition marks an exciting time for our company as we look forward to continued growth in the Brazil market," Thomas W. Swidarski, Diebold's president and chief executive, said in a press release.
