Diebold Inc. wins quality certification.

ATM maker Diebold Inc. said it has received a quality-control certification from the International Standards Organization.

The certification covers processes used at Diebold's teller machine plant in Newark, Ohio. The company is based in Canton, Ohio.

The ISO 9002 designation applies to production and installation processes. It is one of a set of quality-assurance standards used by companies worldwide to evaluate products -- standards considered important to U.S. companies seeking to sell in Europe.

"This achievement is another step toward one of our key goals -- of providing the highest-quality products to our global customers," said Robert W. Mahoney, Diehold's chairman and chief executive.
