The automated teller machine company Diebold Inc. says it is using expense management software from Ariba Inc. as part of a continuing effort to signifiatnly reduce its operating costs and other expenses.
Diebold vowed in 2006 to cut $100 million of costs in the succeeding three years, and Ariba said last week that the North Canton, Ohio, company is using several of its Spend Management products to reach this goal.
These include Ariba Spend Visibility and Ariba Category Procurement, which the ATM company installed in 2006, and Ariba Sourcing, which Diebold has been using since 2000.
"Diebold must diligently manage its costs and drive supply chain efficiency on a global scale in order to maintain and enhance its competitive advantage," George S. Mayes Jr., Diebold's executive vice president of global operations, said in the Ariba press release.
