Dollar Bank to Use NCR's Video ATMs

NCR Corp. announced Tuesday that Dollar Bank has chosen to install its APTRA Interactive Teller machines.

The machines use a built-in camera to connect a user remotely to a bank employee. The Pittsburgh retail bank, a new NCR customer, will use the machines, in its branches and drive-up lanes.

"We have been evaluating this technology and now believe the virtual teller can significantly improve the delivery of service for our customers," says Robert Oeler, Dollar Bank's president and chief executive, in a press release.

In January, NCR bought a minority stake in the company that developed the technology behind the APTRA ATMs, uGenius Technology LLC of Sandy, Utah.
