Edocs Partners with IBM

An alliance between IBM and edocs was struck which aims to offer a broader suite of services and solutions for online account management and e-billing. The integration of edocs' eaSuite and IBM eServers and middleware is being directed at companies in the Americas, Europe and the Asia/Pacific regions, and is expected to provide customer care with online account management and e-billing. As part of the initiative, edocs is now a partner within IBM's PartnerWorld for Developer's Program.

Macy's and Bloomie's Pick CheckFree

Seventy million Federated Credit Card Co. customers can now receive and pay their bills online at more than 300 CheckFree-powered sites, including banks, credit unions, brokerages and Internet portals. Federated operates 450 stores across 34 states, Guam and Puerto Rico, including Macys and Bloomingdales. Tom Stampiglia, president of CheckFree I-solutions, remarked that a growing number of retailers are offering electronic billing since it is an "easy way [for customers] to manage their finances while increasing their free time."

Bill Payment Service On One Site

U.S. Clearing, a division of Fleet Securities, and Paytrust, an online bill management services provider, announced the launch of MyBillCenter. Through MyBillCenter, customers are able to receive, review, pay and organize all their bills online. It is currently being offered to Valet Asset Management Account holders that U.S. Clearing services through its affiliate broker-dealer firms. MyBillCenter is also available directly at the Web site http://mybillcenter.paytrust.com.

Barclays Gets IT Facelift

Barclays Bank has committed to using IBM's software portfolio, a deal that is worth up to $50 million over the next three years. A series of projects will be implemented, including Business Internet Banking, which will be powered by WebSphere, an IBM program. In addition, new platforms are expected in Barclays' European businesses to help it improve customer service.
