The four-year-old Emerald Bank in Dublin, Ohio, is adding a second branch by acquiring one in the Columbus suburb of Westerville.
The $56 million-asset Emerald, a unit of Middlefield Banc Corp., is buying the branch from Commercial Savings Bank, an Upper Sandusky unit of Commercial Bancshares Inc. The price was not disclosed.
The sale, expected to close in the fourth quarter, includes $6.5 million of deposits and $660,000 of assets. An Emerald official said last week that the purchase would increase deposits 16% and would position the bank for further expansion.
