Empire Bank Buying in Southwest Mo.Empire Bank of Springfield, Mo., is expanding in southwest Missouri with a deal to buy Greene County Bank.
The $727 million-asset Empire, a subsidiary of the $8.43 billion-asset Central Bancompany of Jefferson City, Mo., said Monday that it expects to close the deal in the third quarter. The price was not disclosed.
The $38 million-asset Greene County Bank has four branches. They are in Strafford, Fair Grove, and Battlefield, all on the outskirts of Springfield.
Empire has 14 branches in Springfield and the surrounding communities.
