Encore Discovery Solutions Inc., a Phoenix provider of litigation support services to law firms and corporate legal departments, has formed a unit to help clients with cases related to the subprime mortgage crisis.
Encore was a court-appointed provider of such services to hundreds of law firms and parties in civil litigation related to the Enron Corp. collapse.
The new unit "leverages much of the experience Encore gained by managing large matters with complex, repetitive data and tight deadlines, as we did over many years with Enron," Gregory J. Mazares, Encore's president and chief executive, said Tuesday in a press release. "We are uniquely situated to help clients with large, high-profile cases where we can expect immense scrutiny by the courts, government agencies, and the general public."
Subprime mortgage cases "are extremely complex," Mr. Mazares said.
