ETF Assets Grew 7.3% in November

Assets held in exchange-traded funds increased 7.3%, to $739 billion, in November from a month earlier, according to data released Tuesday by State Street Global Advisors.

At Nov. 30 there were 802 ETF portfolios in the United States managed by 30 providers, according to the unit of State Street Corp.

Barclays Global Investments, State Street and Vanguard Group remained the three largest ETF providers. Barclays had $361.4 billion of ETF assets under management at Nov. 30, or 48.9% of the total. Barclays sold its exchange-traded fund business to BlackRock Inc. at the beginning of this month, which means BlackRock is now the largest ETF provider.

The largest exchange-traded fund remained State Street's SPDR S&P 500 ETF, which had $72.2 billion of assets, or a 9.8% share.
