MIDDLE ATLANTIC

Huntingdon Valley Bank in Pennsylvania has hired Joseph C. O'Neill Jr. as a senior vice president and the chief financial officer.

O'Neill was chief financial officer, treasurer and executive vice president of National Motors Bank in Fort Washington, Pa.

Huntingdon Valley Bank has $144 million of assets.


First Niagara Financial Group of Buffalo has hired Robert Kane as the market president and commercial business leader for eastern Pennsylvania.

Kane was the senior vice president of PNC Bank's Philadelphia, central Pennsylvania and Delaware corporate banking groups.

Before that he worked at Bank of New England and First Pennsylvania Bank.

First Niagara has $14.4 billion of assets.


Sterling Bancorp of New York has promoted Dale Fredston to general counsel of the company and its Sterling Bank.

Fredston will remain the senior vice president and corporate secretary of the company and executive vice president and corporate secretary of the bank.

Sterling Bancorp has $2.1 billion of assets.


SOUTHEAST

Lydian Private Bank of Palm Beach, Fla., has hired Alan G. Randolph and Malcolm Brown as senior vice presidents in its wealth management department.

Randolph will oversee the development of private banking and wealth management relationships.

He was the executive vice president at Bank of Miami. Before that he was the president of Ocean Drive Media Group. Earlier he was the senior vice president of business development at Mellon Financial Corp. He began his career at SunTrust Banks Inc.

Brown will oversee the development of the wealth management client base and manage relationships already in place. He was the chief investment officer of LDM Partners LLC, a firm he founded.

Before that he worked for Fiduciary Trust Co. International. He began his career with Merrill Lynch & Co. as an investment strategist.

Lydian Private Bank has $2.1 billion of assets.


BankUnited of Miami Lakes, Fla., has promoted Gladys Reed to executive vice president for Miami-Dade County retail banking and hired Eris Sandler as the regional market president of Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast and Ken Delisle, Ernesto Gonzalez and Tania Ryan as regional managers.

Reed had been the senior vice president overseeing Miami-Dade at the $11.1 billion-asset bank since 2005. She joined BankUnited in 2003 as the vice president for the South Dade market. Before that she managed branches of SunTrust in Miami-Dade County.

She began her 21-year career with SunTrust as a proof-operator.

Sandler was a regional president of BB&T's retail banking division. Before that she worked for Regions Bank.

Delisle was an executive vice president and retail sales leader for BB&T.

Gonzalez was an executive of the retail banking group at BB&T and oversaw branches in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.

Ryan was an area executive and sales leader with BB&T in Broward County. Before that she worked for Wachovia.


SOUTHWEST

PlainsCapital Bank of Lubbock has hired Jeff Flenar as a senior vice president and special asset manager in its special asset management group.

Flenar was a senior vice president and program manager in GE Capital's vender finance group. He joined GE Capital in 2006.

Before that he worked for CitiCapital. He began his career in 1987 at Chase Manhattan Leasing.

PlainsCapital has $4.5 billion of assets.


WEST

United Western Bancorp Inc. of Denver has announced the retirement of William D. Snider as its chief financial officer.

Snider will remain a director of the $2.5 billion-asset company, a post he has held since 2005, when he was named CFO.

Benjamin C. Hirsch, the chief accounting officer, and Charles Caswell, the CFO of United Western Bank, will succeed Snider on an interim basis.
