Liberty Life Assurance Company of Boston has promoted John A. Tymochko to senior vice president of individual life.
He already managed all distribution channels for Liberty Life personal lines. His promotion adds responsibility for underwriting, service, and claims operations.
Mr. Tymochko in based in Dover, N.H. He joined the company in 1993 as a vice president in charge of new business development for the Liberty Life division. In 1995 he started Liberty Mutual's Life Planners organization, which now has 100 financial planners.
Before joining Liberty Mutual he worked at Prudential Insurance Co. He has 25 years of insurance experience.
Liberty Life Assurance of Boston is a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Group, which has $65 billion of assets under management.
Banc of America Securities LLC, the investment and brokerage subsidiary of $656 billion-asset Bank of America Corp., has hired Jim Kissane as managing director and head of high-grade fixed-income sales in its Boston office.
He will report to Jonathan David, head of global high-grade sales.
Mr. Kissane came from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he was the sales manager in the Boston office and held the rank of managing director. He worked there for 12 years.
MIDDLE ATLANTICCitibank Private Bank in New York has hired Geoffrey Von Kuhn as head of its East Coast region and Mark Kozlowski as head of strategy and business development.
They will report to Peter K. Scaturro, global head of Citibank Private Bank.
Mr. Von Kuhn came from Bank One, where he was in charge of sales and distribution of all capital markets products. Before joining Bank One in 1995 he worked at Bankers Trust. Still earlier he worked at Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Kozlowski will be responsible for acquisitions. He came from Bank of America, where he was managing director of the global corporate and investment banking strategy. Earlier he was head of strategy and investment there.
Citibank Private Bank is the wealth management arm of Citigroup Inc.
MIDWESTCharter One Financial Inc. in Cleveland has hired Gregory K. Daniels as chief information officer and senior vice president for its Charter One Bank.
He will also be president of Accredited Computer Systems, the company's information services subsidiary.
He succeeded Thomas J. Kennedy, who has retired from the posts.
Mr. Daniels was chief information officer at Old Kent Bank in Grand Rapids, Mich. Before joining Old Kent in 1996, he was International Business Machines Corp.'s senior executive for its western Michigan region; he worked 20 years for IBM.

Commerce Bank in Kansas City, Mo., has promoted Bradley S. McDaniel and Linda D. McKinney to assistant vice presidencies.Mr. McDaniel is a customer relationship manager for companies in the Harrisonville, Mo., area. He has 18 years of commercial lending experience.
Ms. McKinney manages commercial card operations and oversees implementation, technical support, and customer service for commercial bank card products in the retail lending and payment systems division. She has 16 years of retail and commercial credit experience.
