NEW ENGLAND

BankNorth Group Inc. in Portland, Maine, has promoted Lori E. Kienia to a vice presidency in its electronic commerce development department.

Her new job is to manage and support electronic delivery for the company's investment and insurance business units and to evaluate e-commerce opportunities.

Ms. Kienia had been an e-commerce segment leader since she joined the company last year. She has seven years of experience in electronic commerce, project management, and marketing.

The $18.9 billion-asset company has also made Victoria Larson a vice president. Her responsibilities have not changed; she has been a senior project manager for retail banking in the technology department since joining the company last year.


SOUTHEASTThe Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta has promoted Wes McMullan to senior vice president of sales and marketing and given David Begley the title of group vice president of financial operations. Mr. McMullan had been the bank's group vice president of asset management since 1998. He joined the bank in 1988 as a credit analyst . Mr. Begley's responsibilities did not change.

The two men report to Gary Glass, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer.


MIDDLE ATLANTICDime Savings Bank of New York, a subsidiary of Dime Bancorp, has hired Vito R. Nardelli as a senior vice president and head of its operations in New Jersey and Rockland County, N.Y.

He reports to Peyton Patterson, executive vice president and general manager of consumer financial services.

Mr. Nardelli had worked at First Union National Bank since 1996, when it bought his previous employer, First Fidelity Bancorp of Newark, N.J.
