MIDDLE ATLANTIC

RBC Capital Markets in New York has hired Michael Baumrin and Peter Nolden as managing directors and Mina Choo and Derek McGreal as directors in its municipal finance housing group.

The four joined RBC, the investment banking arm of Royal Bank of Canada, from UBS Bank.

Mr. Baumrin is to be a co-head of the housing finance group. He was the head of the housing group at UBS, where he had worked since 1999.

Mr. Nolden is to be the senior single-family and multifamily banker for the West. He had worked at UBS since 1980 in the single- and multifamily housing business.

Ms. Choo had been an executive director in UBS' housing group since 1994.

Mr. McGreal was the senior coverage banker in the San Francisco office, managing housing issues for state housing finance agencies nationwide.

Mr. Baumrin will be based in New York; the other three in San Francisco.


SOUTHEASTRegions Insurance Group in Birmingham, Ala., has hired Todd Fredella as the senior vice president and business development director for the Birmingham market.

Mr. Fredella was head of middle-market operations at Marsh U.S.A. Before that he was vice president of national benefits at CompBenefits Corp. Regions Insurance is a division of Regions Financial Corp., a Birmingham banking company.


SOUTHWESTGuaranty Bank in Austin has hired Thomas R. Goins as its director of marketing strategy.

Mr. Goins was the director of retail banking and chief marketing officer at First National Bank Texas in Killeen. Before that he was the group product manager for consumer lending at TFC Bank. Earlier he was a management consultant at E-Trade Financial Group.


WESTCity National Bank in Beverly Hills has hired James R. Daley as the executive vice president of its treasury services division.

Mr. Daley had been an executive vice president, chief product officer, and a chairman on the asset-liability and deposit pricing committees at Mellon 1st Business Bank since last year.

Before that he was a president of the corporate financial services group at Commercial Capital Bancorp Inc. in Irvine, Calif. Washington Mutual Inc. bought Commercial Capital in 2006. Earlier, he was the corporate executive vice president of the financial services division at Comerica Bank.
