Citizens Republic Bancorp Inc. of Flint, Mich., said John D. Schwab has retired as its executive vice president and chief credit officer.

Before he joined Citizens Republic in 2002, Schwab was a senior vice president and senior credit officer for Bank One Corp. in Michigan. Earlier he oversaw community investment business in the state for Bank One, which JPMorgan Chase & Co. bought in 2004.

Mark W. Widawski has succeeded Schwab as executive vice president and chief credit officer. Widawski was the managing director for the business finance division of Citizens Republic's Citizens Bank. He joined the company in 2005 as a senior credit officer for southeastern Michigan.

The company also promoted Brad Faubel to managing director and senior credit officer. He was a senior credit officer for southeastern Michigan. Before that he was a senior credit officer for Fifth Third Bancorp in eastern Michigan. Earlier he was a credit approval officer for Bank One.

Faubel will report to Widawski.


MIDDLE ATLANTICUBS AG of Zurich has hired Don Carson as a managing director of the industrials division and Marc Goodman as a managing director of the health-care division in its U.S. equities and research unit in New York.

Carson had been a chemical analyst at Merrill Lynch & Co. since 2002. Before that he had been the chemicals analyst at JPMorgan Chase & Co. since 1992. Goodman was a pharmaceutical analyst at Credit Suisse Group. Before that he held a similar position at Morgan Stanley.


SOUTHEASTBank of America Corp. of Charlotte has promoted Mark Linsz to corporate treasurer.

Linsz was a risk executive for B of A's global banking and securities unit and oversaw the management of market and credit risk. Before that he was the chief risk officer for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Earlier he was the market risk manager for Asia. He succeeded Jeff Brown, who left the company to pursue other interests, B of A said.


WESTUnionBanCal Corp., a San Francisco subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc., has hired Michael Feldman as a national sales manager in the retail banking division of its Union Bank of California.

Feldman was a managing director of retail banking at Countrywide Bank and the president of Countrywide Investment Services Inc.
