Fair Isaac Corp. has started an online forum for financial companies to collaborate on fraud issues.
The Fraud Alert Network Forum, announced Thursday, is an updated version of the Minneapolis credit scoring vendor's CardAlert Fraud Forum that was introduced in 2002.
The new forum was designed to promote open discussions within the industry, the company said.
"Financial institutions generally don't discuss their inner workings with competitors, but in the case of fraud and crime, communication and collaboration are invaluable," Doug Clare, Fair Isaac's vice president of fraud solutions product management, said in a press release.
Professionals from banks, credit unions, and law enforcement agencies may sign up for free but must have their identities validated before getting access to the forum.
