FDIC to Mull Rate, Deposit Measures

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. will consider a proposal Tuesday to impose interest rate restrictions on institutions that are less than well capitalized.

In an open meeting, the FDIC board is also expected to vote on a final rule outlining how the agency determines an institution's deposit balance in the event of its failure.
