First National Merchant Solutions, an Omaha payment processor, is offering American Express Co. acceptance to smaller merchants using the Amex OnePoint program.
Under OnePoint, merchants can view their Amex transactions on a single, bundled statement that also contains transactions made with other companies' payment cards.
Though Amex retains authorization and pricing for transactions made with its cards, First National, a unit of First National Bank of Omaha, handles the processing for merchants in the program.
A First National representative said only its internal sales agents, and not independent sales organizations affiliated with it, will be able sell OnePoint through the processor.
"We can provide one-stop shopping for small businesses looking to accept American Express Cards," Diana Mehochko, First National's president, said in a press release last week.
