First Security of Idaho completes merger.

BOISE, Idaho -- First Security Bank of Idaho, a subsidiary of Utah-based First Security Corp., said it completed its merger with American Bancorp.

Under terms of the agreement announced in December, First Security purchased the $64 million-asset American Bancorp. and its subsidiary, American Bank of Commerce. The latter's four offices, all in the Boise area, became branches of First Security Bank of Idaho.

The merger brings First Security's Idaho network to 89 banking offices in 54 communities, and First Security Corp. to 257 in six states. First Security of Idaho has $3.6 billion of assets and First Security Corp. $11.7 billion.
