Fiserv Closes Deal with TD Ameritrade

TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. has closed its deal to acquire Fiserv Inc.'s investment support services unit.

The $225 million deal, announced in May, closed Monday, though TD Ameritrade may have to pay Fiserv up to $100 million more if the unit meets certain revenue targets over the next year.

The purchase increased TD Ameritrade's client assets by about $25 billion.

Fiserv has been trying to concentrate on its core business of banking technology. Investment support services had been the smallest of its three units. The Brookfield, Wis., vendor sold most of its health-care operations last month to UnitedHealth Group Inc. for $775 million.
