The financial technology company Fiserv Inc. announced an expansion of its lockbox network Monday, opening a fifth remittance processing center, in Dallas.
Fiserv, of Brookfield, Wis., said the center would provide a full range of outsourced services: wholesale, image, "wholetail" and retail lockbox services, along with property management and health-care remittance processing.
Lockbox outsourcing is increasingly popular among banks; Last week Citigroup Inc. agreed to sell its lockbox operation to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.'s First Data Corp., and JPMorgan Chase & Co. sold its retail lockbox business this month to the payments processor Regulus Group LLC; it retained its wholesale lockbox operation.
