Former Congressional Black Caucus staffer to join industry group

WASHINGTON — The Bank Policy Institute is adding the former executive director the Congressional Black Caucus to its government affairs team, the trade group said Tuesday.

Fabrice Coles will join BPI as a vice president of government affairs on Feb. 4, and will focus on consumer and fintech policy issues under consideration on Capitol Hill and in the executive branch.

At the CBC, Coles advised the group’s congressional members on strategy. He previously worked in the legislative affairs office for the Treasury Department’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, and held staff jobs with numerous lawmakers both in the House and Senate.

“Fabrice will work directly with BPI member companies and influential policymakers to help shape policies that allow the nation’s leading banks to best serve their communities,” said Anthony Cimino, BPI’s head of government affairs, in a press release.
