Free Falling

Jeff Sattler, the president of Nuvo Bank & Trust Co., delivered on his promise to jump off a building, and a handful of Boy Scouts joined him.

Actually, Sattler rappelled down the 13-story City Place Inn & Suites in Springfield, Mass., and he used a rope. "It was totally worth the effort for such an important organization," Sattler said.

The Sept. 30 stunt was intended to raise money for a local council of the Boy Scouts of America. The bank said it was on its way to reaching a fundraising goal of $75,000. Anyone who pledged at least $1,000 to the Boy Scouts was also allowed to rappel down the side of the hotel.

Sattler is also the chief lending officer at the $75.3 million-asset bank with one branch in Springfield. He previously worked for TD Banknorth and BayBank.
