German Rail Lines Adopt Hypercom

Three regional transit agencies in Germany are using unattended payment terminals from Hypercom Corp.

The Scottsdale, Ariz., terminal company said Tuesday that operators of the Abellio, Rheinbahn and Westfalen-Bahn rail systems have installed its Artema Modular systems at several key transit hubs. The Artema terminals accept credit and debit cards.

The three lines have 370 trains and carry more than 200 million riders annually.

The German systems integrators Altron Electronic GmbH and ICA Traffic GmbH handled the installation projects.
