Gardner Bancshares Inc. of Kansas has signed an agreement to outsource the core account processing for its $85 million-asset Gardner National Bank to the Brentwood, Tenn., banking technology provider Goldleaf Financial Solutions Inc.
Goldleaf said last week that Gardner Bancshares had not used a computerized core processing system previously and had used a consultant to manage its request for proposal process.
"Most banks do not like the core selection process — from selection to implementation, it's time-consuming and painful, which is why we never had a core prior to Goldleaf," Ralph Leno, the president of Gardner National Bank, said in a press release from the vendor.
Goldleaf also said that Gardner Bancshares is planning to use 10 of its other banking products and services, including data processing, item processing and check imaging, branch capture, report storage, document imaging, and an automated teller platform.
