Goldleaf Helps Tightwad Build Web Site

Tightwad Bank, a $17.1 million-asset operating unit of RSB Financial Inc. in Mission Hills, Kan., has developed an informational Web site using design and hosting services from Goldleaf Financial Solutions Inc.

Goldleaf announced the site's development Friday. The Norcross, Ga., vendor did not say when the bank would introduce transactional banking services online in a planned second phase of its Internet rollout.

Tightwad Bank, formerly known as Reading State Bank, changed its name last year after opening a second branch in Tightwad, Mo.

Donald Higdon, the bank's chairman, said it wanted an industry specialist to manage the site after a flurry of publicity for the name change last summer attracted customers for the bank from as far away as New York and Wyoming.

Before the name change, the bank did not have a Web site.

"Though we were approached by several vendors — all of which could offer Web construction, maintenance and monitoring — only Goldleaf could provide the depth of experience and financial expertise to meet our needs." Higdon said in the vendor's press release.
