Twenty-two financial companies agreed in September and October to use an online banking service from Goldleaf Financial Solutions Inc., the company said Monday.
The Brentwood, Tenn., vendor said that increasing demand for its Web site solutions service, which banks use to help develop their online banking sites, demonstrates that the banking industry has made it a top priority to deliver more financial services to customers through the Internet.
A recent report by TowerGroup, an independent research unit of MasterCard Inc., said online banking use is growing by about 27% annually as customers increasingly want to access their accounts on their own, and at all times.
"It is critical for financial institutions to have a strong Internet presence in today's competitive financial environment," Lynn Boggs, Goldleaf's chief executive, said in a press release.
