GreenPoint Execs Shuffled As 2 Divisions Merge

GreenPoint Financial Corp. said it would merge its New York and national mortgage divisions and make several management changes.

GreenPoint said Tuesday that the merged division will be headed by Ralph Hall, executive vice president for mortgage banking. Mr. Hall was president and chief executive of the national division.

Martin Dash, head of the New York mortgage division, will retire Feb. 1.

Bernadette Arias, GreenPoint's executive vice president for consumer banking, is retiring. She will be succeeded by Ramesh Shah, the bank's marketing chief.

GreenPoint's chief financial officer Chuck Richardson will fill the new position of executive vice president for corporate development. He will be responsible for analyzing merger and acquisition opportunities, investor relations, and management of GreenPoint's capital structure.

Jeff Leeds, senior vice president and treasurer, will become executive vice president for finance. Mr. Leeds will take on the additional responsibilities of managing the company's controllers and its tax, financial analysis, and accounts payable functions.
