Harland, a technology unit of M&F Worldwide Corp., a New York holding company, will offer the service to its financial customers, Compliance Coach said Tuesday.

The service takes users through a series of questions and produces the required risk assessment, the mapping of red flags to appropriate detection and response procedures, the written program, the training materials, and the compliance status report, the elements necessary to pass an audit.

The Federal Trade Commission announced the rules this month. They require financial institutions and creditors to develop and adopt written identity theft prevention programs by Nov. 1.

Compliance Coach estimated that the rules would affect more than 2 million companies.
