JPMorgan Chase & Co. said Wednesday that it will put its brand on automated teller machines in Hess Corp. gas stations.
The deal, which encompasses 107 machines in New York and New Jersey, builds on a 2005 deal with Cardtronics Inc. of Houston, which owns the machines.
In that deal Cardtronics put the Chase brand on machines it operated within Duane Reade Inc. drugstores stores in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Richard Lawlor, Hess' vice president of retail marketing, said in JPMorgan Chase's announcement that "consumers appreciate the convenience and value we can provide by partnering with a strong brand like Chase."
Cardtronics announced a similar branding deal last week, with Old Point Financial Corp., of Hampton Roads, Va., which will put its brand on ATMs at 32 Walgreens Inc. drugstores in the city.
