ATM locators are the newest rage for financial institutions looking to attract adoption for automated services, and MasterCard’s no exception.
The credit card company has launched a free application for iPhone and iPod touch that helps users find ATMs. The ATM Hunter can be downloaded from the Apple app store, and provides details on the location of thousands of ATM locations worldwide.
The application uses the iPhone and iPod touch location awareness technology to pinpoint cash machines, without requiring users to enter their address. It then provides directions and a map.
The search can also be tailored to find ATMs of specific banks, that don’t have surcharges, or ADA compliant, drive through or are open 24 hours.
