Hypercom Corp. has hired a First Data Corp. payments executive to run its Northern European operations.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., terminal company said Tuesday that Peter Vesco would become its managing director for the region starting in October. Vesco is First Data's regional president for Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. First Data is a unit of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.
Vesco will succeed Peter Ehlers, who is leaving next week "to pursue other opportunities," Hypercom said.
The top five banks and thrifts have combined total assets of nearly $13 trillion.
Many legal experts think the Supreme Court will rule in favor of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in a case challenging its funding. Such a ruling would unleash a flurry of litigation that has been on hold pending the outcome of the constitutional challenge.
