American International Group Inc. has announced the retirement of senior vice president Cesar Zalamea, the president and chief executive of its AIG Global Investment Group-Asia division and a 50-year veteran of the insurance giant.

Ada Tse, the CEO of AIG Asian Opportunity Funds and head of Asia direct investments outside Japan, succeeds Mr. Zalamea as the investment division's president and CEO, the company said on Monday.

John Chu, the head of AIG Cos.' fixed-income investments in Asia outside Japan, is to add the title of division chairman.
