In Brief: Agriculture Official On Farm Credit Board

WASHINGTON - Michael V. Dunn, a Department of Agriculture under secretary, has received a recess appointment to the Farm Credit Administration board.

As a member of the three-person board, Mr. Dunn will oversee the Farm Credit System, which has $73 billion of loans outstanding to U.S. farmers, ranchers, and their cooperatives, and the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corp.

The appointment, which does not require Senate confirmation, fills a position created when Marsha Martin, the Farm Credit Administration board's chairman, died in January.
