NEW YORK - Bank of New York has introduced a MasterCard-branded debit card for businesses.
The Direct24 Debit Business Card is free to customers with Bank of New York checking accounts. Its features include round-the-clock customer service and a detailed monthly transaction report meant to help business owners with their record-keeping. While multiple cards can be issued to a single business, only the principal cardholder is allowed to make inquiries about the account, for privacy and security reasons.
The card is the latest in a series of new products and services that Bank of New York has designed for business customers.
"The debit card offers a distinct advantage for business travelers who don't want to carry a lot of cash but may find it difficult to use an out-of-state check for expenses," said Gregory J. Fusilli, senior vice president and head of Bank of New York's retail product strategy and delivery group.
