In Brief: Bank's Investing Arm Renamed 'Nottingham'

Elias Asset Management, a bank-owned Buffalo investment management firm, has announced a name change to Nottingham Advisors.

It said that it had decided to change its name to reflect its "evolution over the last several years into a far more diversified and complete wealth management solution provider."

The company, which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary, unveiled the change Wednesday evening at a reception in the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, whose building is on Nottingham Terrace - an architecturally rich and historically affluent North Buffalo street that inspired the new name. Elias was founded in 1981 and bought by Community Bank System Inc. in 2000. It operates as a stand-alone subsidiary of the bank holding company.
