In Brief: Blackstone Hires VP For Hedge Fund Unit

NEW YORK — Blackstone Group has hired Stephen W. Sullens as a vice president in its alternative asset management group, which manages $2 billion of hedge funds.

His duties include helping to identify hedge fund managers for the firm’s nontraditional group-managed funds and to aid in portfolio construction and risk management.

Mr. Sullens began at Blackstone Group last Monday. He was previously a director at Citi Alternative Investment Strategies, Citigroup Inc.’s hedge fund investment center, where he managed $650 million of assets.
