In Brief: Citi Hires SEC Chairman's Chief of Staff

WASHINGTON - Jennifer Scardino, chief of staff to Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Arthur Levitt, is leaving the agency to join the London office of Citigroup Inc., the SEC announced Thursday.

Ms. Scardino will become Citigroup's director of corporate affairs for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, beginning in October.

Tracey Aronson will succeed her as Mr. Levitt's chief of staff on Oct, 1. Ms. Aronson, 39, had headed the SEC's congressional and legislative affairs office and was previously a trial lawyer in the SEC's office of general counsel and special counsel in its enforcement division.
