FREMONT, Calif. - ActivCard SA said it has entered into a licensing agreement to provide digital identity software to Citigroup Inc.'s Enterprise Commerce group.
The Citi unit, which began using ActivCard products last year, aims to deliver smart-card-based access to businesses and consumers who subscribe to its online services, ActivCard said.
The software establishes online that people are who they say they are and will let Citi offer its customers "a user-friendly experience for accessing e-services," ActivCard said. Customers will "simply insert the card, enter a PIN, and the services are provided."
