In Brief: Citizens Advisers Hires for Growth Unit

Citizens Advisers Inc., the investment adviser to Citizens Funds in Portsmouth, N.H., said Friday that it has hired Jon White to head its newly formed growth team and J. Michael Gallipo to be co-portfolio manager for its small-cap growth and mid-cap growth strategies.

Mr. White and Mr. Gallipo join Citizens from Banknorth's wealth management group where they ran more than 200 general equity and fixed-income portfolios. Before Banknorth Mr. Gallipo a was portfolio manager at Monument Funds Group in Bethesda, Md.

Citizens, which is not affiliated with Citizens Financial Group Inc., the Providence, R.I., banking company, caters to both institutional and individual investors, as well as financial intermediaries.
