In Brief: Deutsche Announces Senior Appointees

Deutsche Asset Management announced two senior appointments that it said will help it expand its global insurance asset management group.

Joachim Liese was hired as a managing director and head of European insurance relationships for the Deutsche Bank AG subsidiary. He is based in Frankfurt. Barton Holl was named a managing director and head of North American insurance relationships; he works out of New York.

Both appointments were announced Wednesday.

Mr. Liese and Mr. Holl are in charge of new business development and relationship management with insurers in Europe and North America, respectively.

Mr. Liese was a managing director and head of growth markets in Germany, Austria, and Europe for Fox-Pitt, Kelton. Previously he was a vice president and deputy head of German-speaking financial institutions at Salomon Brothers International.

Mr. Holl was a vice president for General Re-New England Asset Management in Boston, in charge of new business development. Previously he was director of sales and marketing at Zurich Scudder Investments in New York.
